General King is a decorated WWII veteran and has had a family business in Austin for more than 60 years. He provided distinguished leadership of the oldest institute of higher learning in Austin, Huston-Tillotson College, from 1965 to 1988. General King is also the son of one of the first ear, nose and throat doctors in the country, and a descendant of Sally Hemings.
