Edwin M. Eakin, president of Eakin Press, has been involved in book publishing since 1970. Eakin Press is an imprint of Sunbelt Media, Inc. and is totally owned by the Eakin family. Eakin Press now has more than 300 books in print in such categories as Texana, Western Americana, African-American studies, World War II, and regional cookbooks. Mr. Eakin is the publisher of  Doris Miller: A Silent Medal of Honor Winner written by Doris Miller's niece, Vickie Gail Miller. Mr. Eakin has lobbied to have the Congressional Medal of Honor awarded to Doris Miller.
